The Great Exchange

Romans 3:21-26

Yesterday, we looked at Romans 3:21-26—the heart of the gospel. For three chapters, Paul has shown us the devastation of sin, but then comes that glorious turning point: “But now…” The light of God’s grace breaks through the darkness! The righteousness we could never earn, God freely gives through faith in Jesus.

Paul says we are “justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” That’s the great exchange—our sin for His righteousness. The Judge stepped down from the bench, bore our penalty Himself, and declared us righteous forever.

When that truth fills your heart, it can’t stay quiet. Paul says in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly… singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

That’s not just about what happens in a church building. It’s about your life singing. The more you let the gospel fill your heart, the more joy, gratitude, and grace will overflow from your life.

So this week, let the word of Christ dwell richly in you. Smile. Sing. Rejoice. Let grace be the song your heart can’t help but sing.
